Located on the northern tip of Sulawesi, Indonesia, the Lembeh Strait has been renowned as a world-class diving destination since the 1990s. Today, it is considered an absolute must-visit for macro diving enthusiasts from around the globe.
Famous for its extraordinary marine biodiversity, the Lembeh Strait is a true paradise for underwater photographers. Its volcanic black sand slopes are home to an astonishing variety of rare and unusual marine life, including the elusive hairy octopus, tiny pygmy seahorses, numerous species of frogfish, an incredible diversity of nudibranchs, and countless other fascinating critters that have made Lembeh one of the world's premier muck diving destinations.
During our stay, we will be accommodated at the boutique Solitude Lembeh Resort. The resort features 17 spacious and beautifully appointed villas and rooms designed in the traditional Minahasan architectural style. Guests can choose from three accommodation categories: eight Garden Villas, two Beachfront Villas, and seven Luxury Rooms, all offering a peaceful and comfortable retreat after each day of diving.
Simply put, the Lembeh Strait is one of the very few places in the world where divers can encounter an extraordinary concentration of weird and wonderful marine creatures. Its dive sites are home to hairy frogfish, flamboyant cuttlefish, Ambon scorpionfish, wonderpus octopuses, and countless other fascinating critters—all just minutes from your dive resort.
Water temperatures range between 26–28°C (79–82°F) throughout the trip. We recommend using a 5 mm wetsuit, especially if you plan to complete multiple dives each day, to ensure maximum comfort.
For those wishing to extend their diving adventure, we have arranged an optional second week in Alor, Indonesia, from 5–12 June, during the peak season for encounters with the magnificent ocean sunfish (Mola mola).
